With thanks...

JANUARY 2009
I am grateful for new beginnings, new energy and a new year...

With thanks... Chinese New Year (January 26)...
Today I am grateful for...
The new energy of the new moon, even though it can't be seen in cloudy Sydney skies...
The clouds and rain that cooled our heatwave down...
The fact that this week I've had two freelance stories to write, in the same week I became freelance again...
The cute picnic Cute Husbee and I had in the loungeroom to celebrate the New Year. It was supposed to be on our Tor-like hill, watching the sunset with the bite out of it (partial eclipse), but we had just as much fun at home, eating little treats off elephant plates and drinking lemon squash out of leopard cups, with lion napkins...

With thanks... January 27...
It's 2am and I have to sleep...
but I am grateful that I just sold another book...
that my gorgeous friend Cameron took my book to Chalice Well Gardens, back to the source, and sent me a photo...
that I had a fun night with Cute Husbee and Ange, drinking chai, going to the movies and discussing wars, world history and the southern hemisphere sabbats...
that I walked home, hand in hand with my love, in the midnight dark, watching the stars...
that I designed an ad for the next Platinum Brunette show...
that I remembered that I have to find the photos for the Camino story and take them to the magazine tomorrow...

With thanks... January 28...
I'm bleary eyed from no sleep last night, but today I am grateful for watermelon...
and the fact that when I got off the train at Redfern after work, exhausted, missing Cute Husbee and about to drag my feet (and my backpack heavy with watermelon) the lonely 25 minute walk home, he was there waiting for me, having walked up to meet me as a surprise, so we could walk home together.

With thanks... January 29...

Today wasn't as much fun as usual - I had a migraine so slept in for a while, then just wandered around vaguely. Not much work got done :-(
But I am grateful it has faded.
Grateful I didn't have a really pressing deadline.
Grateful that the library service ordered another book.
Grateful for friends.
Grateful for drinking chai with Cute Husbee in our favourite cafe when I went to surprise him after work :-)

With thanks... January 30...
Today I am grateful for endless cups of tea in my magical and mysterious witchie woman cup. (Jessica Galbreth art, from selinafenech.com.)
I am grateful that I finished my article (4000 words *exactly*, how funny).
I am grateful that my next project is beginning to flow.
I am grateful that Anita and I share advice, encouragement, support and inspiration.
I am grateful for the morning Cute Husbee and I shared, before he had to go to work at 3pm - posting my books and his CD out, drinking chai in the park, under a huge old fig tree, and watching the TINIEST, CUTEST, little baby ducklings paddling around the lake. SO CUTE.
I am grateful for us walking back to Newtown hand in hand... and the fact that any minute he will be HOME!
I am grateful for love, and friendship, and my beautiful supportive husband, and the paradisical realm (both physical and etheric) that we share...

With thanks... January 31...
Today I am grateful for Cute Husbee's soothing kisses - I fell (hard!) on my butt, hurt my wrist and have several bleeding toes where the nails ripped back.
I am grateful for cute adventures, chai tea, bookshops and sunshine...
I am grateful for family, even if I don't see that side of it often...
And I am grateful for the unfolding of new projects...
